EJ Companions are leaders in their movements.
They are disciples who make disciples.
They serve Jesus in One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church humbly, in unity with our pastors and bishops.
They've embraced the "absolute necessity of an apostolate exercised by the individual," as well as the vision of Christifidelis Laici.
EJ Companions are also just humble disciples just battling to get prayer time in the Word daily.
In the Soul of the Apostolate, St. Theresa of Avila, who is a doctor of the Church for her expertise in prayer, is quoted saying: "The person who is fully determined to make a half hour's mental prayer every morning, cost what it may, has already traveled half his journey."
EJ Companions have made up their mind: They're not going to let a day go by without getting into the Word of God.
There's more to come, and more to be understood. But one thing's for sure: We're stronger together.
Jim Collins, in his book Good to Great, said that success is not about having the right vision and getting behind it. Success is about having the right people and they will develop the vision.
This insight is key as Emmaus Journey quietly grows as a mustard seed, fed by doing the One Thing Necessary.
We do know this:
Emmaus Journey exists to encounter the Word, Who ignites hearts for a lifetime of discipleship.
Journey with us. Join the Whatsapp group to be inspired and stay in touch with a missional community of prayer warriors.
In the group chat, Companions share their insights and inspiring takeaways from their daily Scripture reading, especially the lectionary (a.k.a. reading plan) of the Roman Catholic Church, which is posted here every day.
Our purpose is to inspire and encourage one another to get victory in the daily Battle of Prayer (CCC 2725) and achieve the One Thing Necessary on a daily basis.
Once you join our chat, please introduce yourself by sharing the following:
Where you're from
2. Why you joined
Your relationship to the Word of God
What you hope to get from the group chat
3. And if you're brave:
What the "battle of prayer" looks like for you (See CCC 2725)
After all, we're here to accompany and encourage one another!
The chat is also a great place to ask fellow lay Catholic leaders about for insight as in apostolic leadership. (Ex: "How do I evangelize in a certain situation?")
