Abe and Liz Chavez oversee the Emmaus Journey ministry in Albuquerque and are natives of New Mexico. For over 15 years they have been active members of Holy Rosary Parish and involved leading and participating in numerous parish ministries. Their emphasis is on evangelization and discipleship by which they desire to see God use them to help form other Catholics in the faith. In addition to ministering within their local parish through marriage and family ministries, small-group bible studies, and ACTS retreats, they have ministered within their diocese as members of the Stewardship Speaker Team, They also have helped establish the ACTS Ministry in New Mexico. Both Abe and Liz speak at regional and national conferences. They have been blessed with five daughters (two sets of twins), a son-in-law and two grandchildren.
Current Update
We lead several faith sharing small groups amongst older adults, youth, and college students and young adults. Please pray that that they will grow in their devotion to Jesus and that they will make sacred Scripture a vital part of their lives.
A Practical Resource We Recommend
A Facilitator’s Guide provides excellent information and practical ideas for leading small-groups. We use it to train all of our small group leaders. It is available from Emmaus Journey.
